I liked the way the author described the infected dogs, with their decaying flesh and insatiable appetite.
Ellie does not divert to another setting once the dogs get started, but rather stays right there with it until the bone crushing, muscle ripping demise of the victims.
Essentially, a deadly virus has infected the entire dog population, turning them into zombies and turning them into vicious hunters of humans.
Fortunately, the book's ending leaves the door open for a sequel as one of the survivors confronts a new, unprecedented terror.

Interesting, I found the story was well constructed, flowed well. I enjoyed the feel of the story. A very enjoyable read, one which as a dog lover gave my a chill done my spin. Great work and I do look forward to reading more of this Authors' works. A must read for all...5 stars, only because I couldn't give more.

This novel follows the logical progression of the breakdown of civilization as a virus spreads initially among canines and then to humans. The descriptive violence is excellent and the editing well done. The author has a working knowledge of firearms and presents them authoritatively. Overall, a fast moving, captivating story with strong central characters and an uplifting ending.
